Claire Broun hosts panel discussion and communtiy screening of 'Regenerating Australia'
In 2022, JMD design Director Claire Broun hosted a community screening of the film 'Regenerating Australia' by Damon Gameau at the Beverley Town Hall in the wheatbelt of Western Australia.
The discussion hosted by Anthony James followed the screening and featured guest speakers local Noongar man Oral McGuire, regenerative farmers Di & Ian Haggerty, Landscape Architect and rural planner Grant Revell and Damon Gameau (online from the East coast).
Damon outlines in this discussion that the film "really is trying to see these solutions in a much more holistic manner. And sometimes we get caught in this sort of carbon tunnel syndrome in Australia, or just looking at emissions. And we really don’t look at the land and the soil and the water cycles of the planet, and the habitats. So we really have to approach this in a much more holistic way than we have been. And see that our architecture of our system, the engine of our economy, is causing all these things.”
